The last Friday of the month is usually crazy for us. This year we haven’t went to many auctions though. Busy with work, kids, grandkids and the homestead.
Yesterday’s auction was small but fun. My husband, Ivan, came home with a beautiful pair of Fayomi chickens. They are small and feisty.
I came home with the biggest shocker. My crazy self won the bid for 2 Pygmy buckling. They were bottle fed and are so cuddly. They love attention and scratches on the head. The woman that brought them to auction had named them, as true Kansas City Chiefs fans, she named them Kelse and Mahomes. I was born and raised as a Chiefs fan. I’ll be keeping those names. So last night it was go big then go home with 2 goats. LOL
Now today I am on the hunt for some does. Ivan has been searching and found 4. Now to go get them and slowly introduce them all. Better to be prepared for the worse.
I can now say officially I am a goat mama. Our homestead is getting bigger and I’m loving it! What will life throw at us next? Alpacas… llamas… who knows.
